What Types of disabilities does the NDIS cover?

The NDIS is designed to cover more disabilities than previously.  There is a wide range of disabilities covered under NDIS in Perth, including what is mentioned here in List A and List B.

Is it necessary to get application help from a NDIS disability advocate?

The NDIS can be complex, so a disability advocate can help with the application process. Your application will likely be approved when you get their help. 


When you prepare for your disability assessment meeting, your NDIS disability support staff will aid you in completing the necessary documentation needed to receive optimal NDIS disability support for your needs. 

How does NDIS early intervention program benefit children with disabilities?

The Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) program is designed to help children under the age of 7 who have a developmental delay or disability participate fully in everyday activities. By providing early, individualised support, ECEI helps children build critical skills, reach developmental milestones, and improve their long-term outcomes.


The program focuses on family-centered practices, recognising that parents and caregivers play a central role in a child's growth and development.


The ECEI program supports children with various disabilities listed under List 6 on the NDIS website, including but not limited to the following:


  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Global Developmental Delay
  • Hearing or Vision Impairments
  • Intellectual Disabilities

How do I manage my NDIS disability support funding?

You can manage NDIS funding by understanding the following options: NDIA-managed, plan-managed, or self-managed. Regular reviews, wise budgeting, selecting suitable providers, and keeping detailed expense records are essential.


Assistance from Plan Managers or Support Coordinators can streamline the process, ensuring goals are effectively met through regular adjustments. 

Do I need to pay to receive my disability support?

No, you do not need to pay anything. The NDIS is a government-backed insurance scheme that provides funding for reasonable and required support to help individuals with disabilities to improve their quality of life.
